Life is full of seasons...you don't have to live long to figure that out. Yet, the wisest man (besides Christ Jesus Himself) who ever lived spent 8 verses of scripture pondering the various seasons life brings.
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
I have found that 'season pondering' helps us to number our days and thus we gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)
I stepped away from blogging for a season and have now been called back...with confirmation and blessing from the Lord and my husband. These last few months have held moments of life, moments of death, moments of activity and moments of rest, moments to cherish and moments I'd love to forget!
But through every moment and each season I have seen the Lord's hand. Truth be told, as I type away the start of a new season, I can truly say the ups and downs have drawn me nearer still to His side. My prayer is YOU, too, would catch a fresh glimpse of Jesus as you travel through this season with me. Welcome (back) to Growing In Godliness!

Welcome back! I love the new look. I also love that passage. It has always been one of my favorites; so simple yet profound.
It's about time your new season arrived! I look forward to reading your blog again.

Praising the Lord for your return. I began reading your blog over a year ago and it was during a very trying, testing and faith-building time in my life where I was learning what it REALLY meant to trust in God ALONE. Your words were a major part of what God used to direct me through that season of my life.
I don't really know you but I love you dear sister!
Welcome back!!
Welcome back. I too look foward to reading your blog.
Mariel,
I am so glad you are back and I love the new look. It is fresh and beautiful. As I have told you before, your blog is one that really, really blessed and spoke to me. So much of blogland is superficial and that is ok but I desired more. I desired writing that would sharpen me and yours does that. So, again, I am thrilled you are back.
