What if you woke up this morning with only what you had thanked God for yesterday?
This question was presented to me as I was driving home this afternoon from my parent's house. I immediately turned down the radio volume and went to prayer. I felt convicted for not having lived thankful today and began to tell the Lord all I am thankful for. I really am a pretty thankful person...especially lately, as I have felt the weight of blessings in our favor after a very difficult season.
As I pondered the practicality of this thought, what if I woke up with only that for which I had given thanks, I realized for all the incredible gifts the Lord surrounds me with daily, I do not pause often enough to thank Him. Like the ungrateful healed lepers who missed the real blessing of intimacy with Jesus and spiritual wholeness, I can be good at receiving the blessings and run off with joy. But I forget to turn my eyes to heaven and pause long enough to praise the One who sent the gift my way, thus growing in intimacy with Him.
What about YOU? What if you woke this morning with only that for which you had thanked the Lord for yesterday? What blessings would be missing? Pause now, and thank Him for He so delights to hear it.

What a GREAT post! Such a good reminder. I actually make it my daily habit to first thank God for His presence in my life. There is nothing I am more thankful for than just knowing that He is with me always. I pray that I am always aware and thankful for my blessings . . . although, so often they're disguised . . . which is why I must learn to be thankful for the things that I don't like in my life, knowing that God uses ALL things together for good!
