As I look to the Lord to prepare my heart for the fall season ahead...and all its usual busyness...I have felt prompted to LOOK TO JESUS. Over the hot days of summer the Lord has increasingly pressed into my spirit that I am to Love Him, Press into Him and (thanks to the recent Living Proof Live in Charlotte) Hold Fast to Him. All of these are very similar concepts that require a focused look at my Savior. He is the only true place of comfort, rest and sim
plicity. (all things a busy homeschool mom and wife could use!)
In practical terms the Lord has pointed me to the gospel of Matthew. The name "Matthew" means gift of Yahweh...which is why we chose the name for our second born son. But the Lord has also given me the reminder to keep my heart thankful for the gifts He has given me. So I look to the man named "Gift" to point me in the right direction...to my Savior's face.
Would you join me in reading a chapter a day through the book of Matthew this month? With 28 chapters, we will find ourselves facing September and the fall season, with a fresh revelation of our King Jesus.
